Each year, as summer begins to bloom in Central Texas, I hold space for something tender, powerful, and deeply personal—the breastfeeding journey. On Saturday, June 28th, from 10 a.m. to noon, I’ll be welcoming breastfeeding and pumping mothers into the quiet embrace of the SJRC Texas Family Resource Center for a free photography event that has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

This year marks the fifth annual Breastfeeding Awareness Sessions, and as I reflect on the hundreds of mothers I’ve had the privilege to photograph over the years, I’m reminded that every story—every latch, every bottle, every ounce pumped in the dark—is worthy of being seen.

Why these sessions matter

These sessions began as a personal offering—born from my own experience of breastfeeding. I wanted to honor the emotional and physical complexity of that season in my life. The stillness, the sacrifice, the quiet power I never expected to find there. In creating space for others to document this chapter, I was honoring my own, too.

Breastfeeding can be beautiful. It can also be exhausting, complicated, and completely consuming. For many, it’s a mixture of all these things—and that’s exactly why I created these sessions. Whether your journey has been short or ongoing, smooth or hard-won, this event exists to honor and document the work you’re doing to nourish your baby.

These moments pass quickly. But photography can hold onto them for you.

Each participant will receive a free mini session and a minimum of three professionally edited images.. There’s no pressure, no expectations—just a safe, affirming space for you to come exactly as you are.

A note from me

I’m Morgan — a birth photographer and doula based in San Antonio, and I believe in the power of storytelling. Through these sessions, I get to witness moments of quiet strength, tender connection, and resilience. I don’t take that lightly.

Whether this is your first time feeding or your final season of nursing, I would be honored to capture this chapter for you.
